The 101 course is a two-day (16 hour) course perfect for beginners that teaches the mastery of sailboats up to 25’ in moderate wind conditions. Skills taught include: basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety.
Upon graduation, you will receive ASA certification, and you will be ready to safely and confidently skipper boats of 20 ft. Soundside WB enjoys a prime location on Wrightsville Beach with access to the calm waters of the sound, ideal for both beginner and intermediate instruction.
Experience a complete compliment of sailing conditions to navigate including day marks, tides, and other coastal variations.
Our fleet includes J/22s, Hobie Waves, and two large cruising keelboats: Allana and Zoe.

REGISTRATION AND HOW TO PREPARE
The two-day ASA 101 course is $800 per person which includes: ASA 101 book, ASA Certification fees, 1st year of ASA membership, and a 1 hour J/22 rental after the completion of your course.
